2024 Kansas City Parade of Hearts' Artist (HeARTIST), Eugenia Ortiz's heart is inspired by quote by 13th century poet and mystic, RUMI.
Heart titled: "Let the Beauty we love, be what we do".

Local Kansas City Artist, Eugenia Ortiz aka "Hex~E" is painting her 5 foot heart at Lenexa City Hall. Her painting process is available for viewing by the public as a way to create community engagement and conversation about Art.

Ortiz's heart will remain at Lenexa City Hall until her heart is completed by the end of February. All 100 Hearts for the 2024 Parade of Hearts will be place throughout the Kansas City Metro mid April 2024.

Artist Eugenia Ortiz has invited the Ecstatic Dance KC community to come and dance in her beautiful, vibrant solo exhibit, RESURGENCE, at the Mission Arts Center.
She is celebrating being selected to be a part of the 2024 Kansas City Parade of Hearts.

The event is facilitated by live violinist Kimberli Hansen, aka String Theory, artist Eugenia Ortiz, and InterPlay leader and facilitator Devi Wetterer.

12:30 Cool down sound healing
12:45 Closing sharing circle

What is interplay?
InterPlay is a therapeutic practice that uses playful group activities like storytelling and movement to nurture the inner child within.
What is ecstatic dance?
Ecstatic dance is an intentional movement practice where you let the music guide your motions as you explore the benefits of motion as you dance your way beyond limitations and judgment in a safe community container.
